After the initial styling enhancements, we needed to address the handling, braking and grip. Unfortunately our bank accounts are not bottomless meaning that we resorted to forums and Facebook groups to find out which parts are crucial and most effective for a fast road/track capable set up.
For handling, we went for a lovely set of adjustable MMX springs to get the perfect ride hight, a little more cornering support and adjustability. We also added Millway Street Adjustable camber top mounts to allow a much more aggressive camber angle at the front. Both of these upgrades along with a full geometry set up from The MotorWorks has given us a very well balanced but aggressive road car which is more than capable to be thrown around the Nurburgring!
Further to the handling, we addressed the braking performance but upgrading to some HEL braided brake lines and some Ferodo pads. While these parts were being fitted, our friends over at RD Motorworks flushed the brakes through with some Motul RBF660 brake fluid. After a few long days or road and track, we can confirm that these small upgrades have transformed the brakes. The next hurdle to over come will be brake cooling.
Saving the best for last! To make sure that all of out handling and brake upgrades are effective, we decided to go a little bit crazy with the whees and tyres. 19 inch Apex VS5RS wheels in Motorsport Gold, shod in either Michelin pilot sport cup 2 tyres (dry weather) or Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres (wet weather) was the choice!! No only do they look amazing, they have transformed the car. Both front and rear wheels are winder giving us a massive amount of mechanical grip and also keeping the weight similar to what the stock wheels are tyres were. The apex wheels are fully forged and SO MUCH stronger than the stock option.
